    Redhead Mfg. Co.

Today, I picked up a Redhead hand drill (not a breast drill) at a local antique shop. It says both New York and Germany on it but no numbers and it looks similar to a Goodall-Pratt drill. I was wandering if anybody knows anything about this company because before this I had never heard of them before. I might be posting pictures after I restore it up. Thanks y'all!

Brent I'm not sure but it may help in your search to know that a Redhead company made lead anchors for attaching bolts and screws into concrete. I would guess that they made other anchoring devices also. Maybe the same company.

Does it look something like this one?

That looks like a Redhead to me, Steven. The spokes in the drive gear are usually my first clue. There have been times when I've confused them for GP, though.

I have seen these around a bit. They're generally pretty good drills, but the company is a tad difficult to find info online about. Albeit, I have personally only done a cursory look-see. Someone else might find something I've missed.

Yes Steve, it looks exactly like that. The name is on the other side of the wheel lever though.

They also made the drills for those anchors. Before Hilti we used Redheads.
