I have a customer who dropped off a tungsten carbide dog tag that she would like to have engraved. It's shiny so I don't think CerMark will work on it. I'm assuming you would need a FiberMark laser for this type of metal, correct?

Thought I would answer my own question so others will know. Yes, you can use CerMark on tungsten carbide metal. I was able to engrave the dog tag and not have the CerMark rub off.

Thanks for finding out for us! I've have lots of carbide tools around here, never thought to try Cermark on one.

Not at work, but it was fast, and probably 80KHz. It leaves a nice mark that you can’t feel at all but looks razor sharp. Maybe 20 ips, possibly a couple passes, but I don’t have it with me. You almost can’t do much wrong to it at 80KHz.

On my 50w Fiber, I used 2 passes at 2000sp 30%pw 90KHz.
