    Terry,
depending upon your application, messages in your deleted folder and/or your sent mail folder may contibute to your "exceeding your limit"....
When you delete a message, it is usually still in a deleted folder, and still taking up storage space.

You must go to your sent mail box and houseclean there as well, the limit of 70 messages is based on all messages that exist in your mailbox folders.

vBulletin automatically saves every message you send in your sent mail box.

In addition to your "In Folder" & Sent Folder, there is a "Message Tracking" folder that needs cleaning out from time to time.

Where is this message tracking folder? I just did a house (e-mail) cleaning and it speeded up things a lot.

You will find a "Track Messages" link on your Private Message screen. Click that and you have the option to delete any or all that you no longer want tracked.
