    gift for a mother

    Hi Guys.

A friend of mine wants me to create a memorial for her recently deceased nephew. She has a digital image of his signature, and wishes to have it engraved on an end-grain slab of wood. I will be prepping the wood, but am unsure where to inquire about engraving services. If you have advice, please pm me.

    Prashun,

I don't live in New Jersey so I can't help you with local sources. But most shops that do trophies and similar work have a laser. It shouldn't take you much time with a phone book or Google to find a few local Trophy Shops that could help you. Talk to them before you spend time prepping the wood too. They can advise you on what works best for treatment of endgrain in their experience.

My kindest thoughts to your friend. This sounds like a lovely way to approach her grief and create a lasting good memory for herself in the process.

900x600 80watt EFR Tube laser from Liaocheng Ray Fine Tech LTD. Also a 900x600 2.5kw spindle CNC from Ray Fine. And my main tool, a well used and loved Jet 1642 Woodlathe with an outboard toolrest that helps me work from 36 inch diameters down to reallllllly tiny stuff.

    Prashun,

Check out our Friends of The Creek Directory, the link is in my signature. Lots of really talented laser engravers here at The Creek.
