    Bowl from a (chess)board

This was a fun christmas present to make. I've done a few bowls from a board using the scroll saw. Thought the chessbaord concept would look cool. Maple and Walnut

Wow! I never saw a bowl from a board before. I'll need to google that one. And using the chess board is just spectacular! For some oddball reason, it made me think of Alice in Wonderland ( no earthly idea why).

Agree with all. As for how to display ,I reccomend putting it in a road side atraction with a few chess pieces in the bottom.
One of those extra concentrated gravity places. Interesting how the brain tries to make sense of the deviant normal, I can feel a little headache if I look at it more than a few seconds at a time.

Very cool. It looks like something Salvador Dali would've done.

Mel has the right idea. I would get some plastic chess pieces to double stick in place. Slightly melt ones that get placed in the down turn.

Mel thats an awesome idea. I gave that bowl away as a gift, but I'm working on a second with slight variations. i'll have to use that idea.
