I like the idea of the kits, but I'm looking for the coupler to have a male thread to screw into the brass Wye on our drops (reduce the number of leak sources)...most that I see are female (seems a bit sexist to me). But, the response has me wondering if I shouldn't replace the plugs on the tools while I go through the process. They are relatively inexpensive by comparison...do they wear our?

That company requires me to create an account to look at prices...I don't think so. Thanks anyway.

No doubt there's better available. These are reasonably cheap and don't leak.
That 14 piece set is a good deal.

The two places where there was a noticeable difference when I switched to the v style were my bigger framing nailers and my impact wrench. The framing nailers would sometimes leave nails proud on LVLs or even sometimes when nailing double top plates. That went away when I switched to the V style. The impact wrench has noticeably more oomph on big tight nuts and bolts, and will sink big lags into deck framing and posts like they are balsa. It's also important to use at least 3/8 ID hoses with such tools.

So, given that none of our air tools require very much volume, I decided that volume was not an issue initially. I ended up ordering one of the Milton M-style with release button for one of the 3 outlets of the Wye on each drop. We also installed a valve above the Wye, so our intent is to run a hose from the Wye to each of the permanent tools. We'll plug the open holes and be able to add couplers as needed. We did add a 2nd coupler to the drop closest to the workbench. I needed 15 couplers initially, so there was only a cost difference of $75 total to upgrade from the standard Milton to the version with release button. I also ordered 10 male plugs (to start with) to replace any tools having an issue with coupling.

For anyone interested, we are installing these Wye's at the end of each of our drops.
