Given a fan retail cost $432 advice on how best to use

I was given the fan below in exchange for 3 bottles of cider

    http://www.mercateo.co.uk/p/2794W-88...Fan_315mm.html

I have a small one car garage measuring 10ft high 12 ft wide and 20 ft deep

My intention is to attach 5 yards of 12 inch flexible ducting to the fan , open the garage doors partially then arrange the ducting so it follows a path out of the garage I then intend use the fan as an air cleaner

According to the spec you linked to, Brian, the fan will move air up to a max of 500 Pascals which by my reckoning is around 2 inches of water. As an air cleaner it should work especially as you're using a large duct and no filtration - so not much in the way of resistance that would kill the flow. I would recommend keeping the duct as short and straight as possible though.

    Hi Andy

A huge thank you for your reply I had spent some considerable time researching building an air cleaner I then concluded as soon as I opened the doors of the garage which I usually do when working the air quality would be the same as that in the general atmosphere

I therefore concluded using a large fan and flexible ducting would be the best option

I have identified the ducting below

    • Air conditioning/ Combi flexible Ducting

    which is
15.7 inches in diameter for sale 5 yards for $16
