Even though I live where the rain goes over us to drop it on the higher elevations, I can vouch that this has been the wettest winter since '97/98 (45" of rain that winter, normal is 15"). There were few really heavy rainstorms this year, but a lot of days with a slow and steady rain. We got 2.5" at our house in the last week. I have no trouble believing the 20" at Rick's house. We need the rain and snowpack in the Sierras.

NEW South Wales and Queensland expecting 47C/117F today. Tasmania? 17C/63F. I won't trade places with anyone. Roll on autumn, the best season of the year. Cheers

16" of white on Thursday, 3" yesterday, and it just began to snow again a few minutes ago. The forecast is for another 8-16" between today and tomorrow morning. We cope.
