    For something like a Starrett square I would send it back and ask for another. I would also call Starrett and see what they have to say about identifying a fake just for future reference.
    Looks like it goes on sale for $113. Twice since Jan 1st.

    * just reading one of the reviews and buyer was questing if the square was made in the USA because the one he received was not stamped USA like the one in the photo.
