    Cleaning and flattening wood veneer

I'm not sure where to post this for discussion, but I'll start here and perhaps someone can point me to a more appropriate venue.

I have some birds eye maple veneer that is dirty, mold stains and wrinkled. I want to use oxalic acid to clean it and some softener/conditioner to flatten it. So, which do I use first and does it matter? If I use the oxalic acid first, do I need to thoroughly dry it before using the conditioner? Anyone have experience or other suggestions? Many thanks...

  2. yes let it dry the oxalic acid before applying conditioner.
