    Source for Jewelry Box parts

Looking for felt inserts, ring holders, necklace holders etc. I know about Rockler but are there other sources I am missing? For internal drawer liners, do most of you use premade felt and cut it out or do you flock?

    Thanks in advance,

tim, I use Rockler parts, and some Lee valley, but interested in hearing about other sources. I use the sheets of felt and cut to fit. Note that Rockler has some pre-made trays to match the felt colors that would save some time. I have used suede once, from the Tandy leather store.

I generally line the drawer with adhesive backed felt from the craft store. For necklace holders, I used small wooden pegs from wooden toy part suppliers.

I'm partial to faux suede for liners. Get it at the fabric stores.

I'm glad you asked the question as I'm also interested in the responses, especially for the ring & necklace holders. Personally, I use the adhesive backed velvet from Rocklers to line the interior of jewelery boxes, etc.Although I do like the felt, as Lee noted, I like the feel & look of velvet better as I think it adds a bit more elegance to a nice box.

    Tim,
I have found that what I usually need to fit a certain box is not necessarily available to purchase....the exception being the 24" insert from Rockler that can be cut to fit lengthwise. http://www.rockler.com/padded-ring-bars
I usually end up making my own out of random materials. For a simple flat bottom box, I wrap the adhesive velvet around a piece of picture frame matting cut about 1/8" less that length and width of box interior. That usually produces a good fit. Also, if the velvet is ever worn or damages, it can be lifted and replaced easily.
For other ring inserts or "roundish rolls in a box, I have bought these http://www.sallybeauty.com/jumbo-sof...FdgDgQoddP0E7A
and then cut to length and wrapped with the velvet. I select the size of the rubber hair roller so that a specific number of then side by side will fit the area needed. They compress a little and you can get a tight fit easily. I sometimes cut a flat on one side of the roller long axis on the band saw so that they aren't too tall and also they stay in place even better.
This process, while it takes a little time allows me to get a custom sized piece for any box I might make.
I don't have finished pictures with me of the rolls as I am away from shop/home until tomorrow. I'll try to take a couple of close ups when I get home and post them here. The picture below is a flat bottom of velvet wrapped over picture matting board(+/- 1/16" thick).IMG_9098.jpg
