OK I should know this but I've got myself confused.

I've always thought you have the outside of the tree out so the top joints of the DT stay tight. Always don't this way but on a recent build with rather deep drawers, I found the drawers cupped a bit which made them bind.

So now I'm thinking keep the cup in to avoid this at the risk of the top pin opening up?

Or have I got it all backwards? Straighten me out please.

Oh, and please don't suggest QS wood that is something I would have a lot of trouble obtaining for drawer sides. I typically use either poplar or pine.
