    Blanket Chest

I wanted to make a blanket chest out of some walnut that I salvaged. Two drawers in the bottom would be nice, but how do I personalize it? I carved out a northern pike to put on the front. I mad the top 1" thick because I figured people may want to sit down. The finish is 4 coats of tung oil.

    Gary,
I think you need some photos that don't distort the chest so much to show off it's full potential, a longer focal lens would be good. I doubt it is tapered like that in real life. You could have a shot with the drawers & lid open as well. Is it lined with aromatic cedar for the blankets?

Love the use of grain for pike parts. Its a good folk art piece, don't see much of it,too many plans around! I would take it one step farther with your own design for wooden drawer pulls.
