    2" Hard Foam

I've done 3/4 inch foam. Anyone here done thicker foam. You know the white stuff that you use for insulation. I'm looking at around 2"

would likely be do-able with a 4 or 5" lens. Any less and the beam angle will become a big factor beyond an inch down. A 5" lens and enough power (?) would probably go thru it like butter

I tried a piece of 2in rigid foam insulation w/ a 2.5 in lens recently. The beam expanded so much past the focus point, it was nearly 1/4 in wide. The part it did cut, melted away w/ no problems though.
