    Lathe Stand

I was working on trying to finish up my dining room chairs and my router-table router died. I ordered a replacement and while I was waiting I decided to use some of my scraps to make a dedicated stand for my mini-lathe.

    Finished stand this evening

New router showed up today so back on the chairs...

I like the simplicity and function of it.
I have the same lathe and am thinking about building the stand in the Dec/Jan 2017 issue of Woodcraft Magazine for mine.
Do you have any issues with it handling the weight or vibrations?

    Thanks Greg and Jerry.

Chris - I just finished it last night. I got the lathe just before Christmas and turned a couple of bowls for my wife with it just sitting on a Workmate. I more recently turned a vise handle with it while it was sitting on a sawhorse with a similar design to the stand. No issues with the lathe vibrating or moving.

I borrowed the design from Popular WW website and modified it some. The legs are splayed 5 degrees out both directions. The Pop WW design has another shelf down lower with sand bags for mass. I will add the lower shelf if I need it. The lathe is bolted down with rubber isolation washers between the lathe and the stand.
