    11" Redwood Bowl

Just finished an 11" Redwood Bowl and wanted to share.
Lot of cracks and holes, so decided to keep walls a little thicker than I would have preferred.
The wood was beautiful but was very dry. It was given to me by a friend and it had been is dad's garage for many years.

Last week I picked up a large and sopping wet chunk of redwood. It was so wet that a mist and splatter was coming off the platter blank as I was turning it. I rough cut it, wrapped the edge with shrink rap and then bagged it. How prone is redwood to cracking if normal precautions are taken.

I am afraid I can't help you. I was lucky to be given a piece of redwood which had was already dried. It did have several significant cracks in it but I was able to get bowl out of it.

Great piece! I think the thickness is just what it should be.
