    Round Front Walnut Corner Cabinet

Here is a corner cabinet I just finished. I designed it to match a sofa table/cabinet that has a quarter round drawer on both ends.

The construction is shop sawn walnut veneer vacuum bagged onto Baltic birch plywood for the visible flat panels. The bent laminations were done from more shop sawn veneer and plastic resin glue, in the vacuum bag. The finish took a long time to figure out to get a good match to the existing piece. I made over 30 specimens before being comfortable I had it right. The general process was dye, sealer, dye/stain, sealer, toner, finish coats. But I think you'll agree the effort was worth it.

The drawer rides on a single KV center undermount slide.

Here is the cabinet with the drawer I had from the existing piece for matching.

The construction alone is great but matching the color/finish is superb, John! Great job!

Fine woodworking. Really fine job getting a close match to the original finish. Thanks for the build info also.

Thanks very much, all; much appreciated. Here's a picture I took with my phone when I delivered it today. The color looks very different with different lighting - but still the same as the piece I matched.

I've seen old pieces that were similar but this one has such a high degree of precision that it is clearly modern and fine.
    And quite distinctive.
