    Stanley 150 Mitre Box.

Finished restoring a Stanley 150 Mitre Box to user condition. The new wooden base was cut and shaped to suit. After some fine tuning on the built in adjuster mechanism, the accuracy of cut is now spot on 90 degrees. The saw plate gauge on this backsaw is 0.025", at 90mm below the hardback. The maximum depth of cut using the mitre box is 1 3/4".

Very nice Stewie. I assume you made the backsaw?

Really nice Stewie. Much beefier then my modern Master Mechanic Miter Saw.
    Nice work on the saw.

I assume all the other angles are dead on as well?

Seriously, I've been wanting to get a mitre box/saw for a while, but I've never been sure about how well they cut.

Looks very nice, by the way.

Nice. I'm surprised by the beefiness of the wood table - the factory original is, as I recall, under 3/4".

I owned one of those and found it frustrating - the saw tended to bind in the carriage. If I ever come across another one, I'll try waxing the carriage.

I still have a factory supplied wood deck for one....3/4" thick. Mine was well cut up, too..

Replacement deck. This model of the Stanley No. 150 had red lettering....

"From a runt hunt last year....." Runt or Rust? I can understand either or both applying. It sure doesn't look like a runt now.
