I have just about finished wallpapering (with 1/2" baltic birch) a wall (supporting the floor above it where the previous owner built a large stone fireplace) made from 16" x 8" x8" concrete blocks. That wall has a cubby hole that's about 8" high, 5.5" wide, and 9" deep. I'd like to build a little pop-out drawer to fit in there - one that will fit flush at the front but pop out when pushed in. What is the hardware for that kind of thing called and where do you think I can get something that will fit?
Lee valley has drawer slides that would so this, but the shortest one is 10.5" - and since I can't see them without ordering them (the web images are terrible) I don't know if I can cut bits off those; plus they're quite wide and so use up a disproportionate amount of space. Anyone know if they can be cut? or, better.. have a better idea?
