Rockler Drawer Lock Bit

I recently purchased a Rockler Drawer Lock Bit. It says it is for 1/2 to 3/4. I am new to routing and I want to join 3/4 in stock to 3/4. Is that possible?

Yes.

I have used it on 1/2" BB ply which is under 1/2" and on material thick than 3/4". As you see in the first pic, as long as the reference surface is the same for both parts, you just end up with more material on one side of the joint.

What that means is you can use the bit for any wood thickness between 1/2 and 3/4.

Thank you for your response. I can use it to join two pieces that are 3/4 in thick...right? I came with a set up block, but that is for 1/2 in to 3/4, so I just have to adjust my fence accordingly right. Is there a specific way to know where to sent your fence?

James, did you have the instruction sheet that Rockler has on the bit? http://go.rockler.com/tech/Rockler-D...structions.pdf covers your questions I think. Yes you would adjust the fence as stated there.

Yeah, but the instructions are for joining 3/4in to 1/2in. I did not know if there is an easy way to determine where to set up the fence to join 3/4in to 3/4in..

Been a long time since I used one but I would have thought (as per the instructions) you only move the fence for the drawer front (and back if the same joint is used) and it would need to move 1/4 inch (ie a deeper cut on the front only)
