    A visit to the lumberyard

Always nice in the Amsterdam Harbor

And this is my score for the top of the bathroom cabinet. They ain't cheap, but they have great stuff!
Two cherry boards, one is 24 cm wide, the other 17, both about 3 meter long.

Neat! We don't get to take lumber right off the boat over here (U.S.).

What thickness Kees? And do you haul them on a bicycle like everyone else I saw when I was in Amsterdam?

I am guessing only with boards under 3.5 meters long, and no more than two boards at a time.

Ha ha! The boards were brought home in the car. It's a bit far for me on the bike with such a load. About 35 km.

They are 2" thick or 52 mm as we say.

A few years ago, we visited the Rhine and ended the trip in Amsterdam. It was a delightful trip.
    Your post brought back memories.
