    Do I need breadboard ends?

Hey guys, I'm in the very early stages of building a basic hall table. The design is pretty much done and I started roughing out the lumber today. The top will be a two board glue up measuring 15" x 48". Should I add breadboard ends here to ensure a flat top? It would certainly fit the style but didn't originally plan on doing it.

This comes up now and again. Many state that with properly handled and milled material breadboard are not needed. I like them and use for aesthetics as well as function.

No you don't need them. If you want the style that is ok but they are not necessary. Cheers
