    Raised door Panel width

I am going to use space balls on my doors. In the past I have just used a little rubber pc that was like an o-ring cut and straightened out. How much decrease should I use on the panel width and length to allow for the space balls. I have built several doors and use no rubber with no problems except for getting the panel corners aligned straight. A pro told me to use space balls and it would alien the inside corners. In the past I have used 1/8" for 1/16 on each side. The space balls look a lot larger than the rubber I have used in the past.
    Thanks
    Johnny

Nothing wrong with space balls, I secure my panels with a 3/8" headless pin on the back top and bottom right in the center after centering the panel in the frame.
