Some years ago, I had a nasty voltage spike in my house that fried all the electronics (VCR, microwave and so on). That was back when I didn't have a lot of electronics. Now, when I turn things off, I really want them off. I have indicators for the VFD on my drill press and lathe, the CNC on the metal lathe and the SawStop. Mine are all work lights of some sort. When I leave the shop, I'm in the habit of glancing around what should be a darkened room. If I see any lights, then something is on.

Forgot to mention that I also have an indicator that the bandsaw blade is under tension.
