    Eye candy

Just thought I would share some pictures of a 'rainbow' poplar bowl I turned this week. The block of wood was given to me by a fellow turner since he knows I love to turn this type of poplar. The blank was 23 x 23 x 5 1/2. I was able to get a 21" x 5" bowl out of it.

It was very wet so I will anxiously await to see how many of those colors I have left in a few months. It is the prettiest piece of wood I have ever seen.

    Cheers,
    Dave

Sometimes Poplar can show some very nice mineral staining and that piece is a prime example. Unfortunately expect it to fade some but hopefully it will retain some of the color. Nice job, it looks great!!
