Anybody with experience with Lucas Mill Slabber?

    Hi All,

I recently hauled a bunch of cedar, maple, sequoia and cherry logs that are to big for my Mizer LT40. I'm looking at the stand alone Lucas Slabber as an alternative to get some live edge slabs. Anybody have experience with the Lucas Mill/Slabber? Are there other alternatives for logs wider then the 28" Mizer maximum?

    Thanks,

    David M.

Lucas and Peterson both make very good dedicated slabbers. Additionally Woodmizer has recently introduced "wide head" models for many of their portable mills. Hud-Son also has some relatively inexpensive wide manual band mills.

Left Coast Supplies is a few hundred miles from you in northern California, and they have a lot of experience selling slabbers.
