Anyone recognize these chisels? Just wondering who made them. They have leather ends and the sizes are stamped on the blades but no maker's ID anywhere. They came in an unlabeled boxed set of 8 sizes.
Thanks

Hi Mark
I think that they could be a few different makes, however I would expect a known maker to have stamped their mark. The handles resemble those I have owned from Witherby.

That was my thought, they look a lot like chisels from Winstead Edge Tool maker of Witherby chisels. The handles resemble those I have owned from Witherby.
Maybe some more pictures would help.

Thanks for the response Derek I appreciate it. I will take a look at some from Witherby
Hi Jim I don't have the chisels in hand yet. I am going to see them up close tomorrow. Trying to decide if I "need" them.
So true
Do you mind mentioning the asking price?
A boxed set of 8 would have to look pretty bad for me to pass them up at a good price.
Some chisels were plated for marketing reasons. Sometimes you might see copper where the plating has worn. A Sears chisel of mine shows evidence of this.

The asking price was $35, but someone bought them before I had a chance to look at them.

Something a financial advisor once said comes to mind, "deals are like busses, there is always going to be another one coming along."
