Jet Parallel Clamps Black Friday Sale Did it happen in 2016?

Just curious... Did anyone notice if Jet offered the usual Black Friday Parallel Clamp sale in 2016? I somehow missed it

IIRC, there was a smaller percentage off this year.

  3. I looked pretty hard and never saw the Jet 4 clamp set on sale anywhere which is what I usually buy.

Agree. But there were small discounts on individual clamps, as I recall. They werent enough to get me to buy though.

Just curious... do those who have purchased the Jet style parallel clamps think they are worth the extra money over the other parallel clamp manufacturers? Is the release they feature that big of an advantage? Thanks

I really like the release feature. Plus, they just seem to be extremely well made. But I just bought two Besseys for my current project. I should have a better feel for which I prefer next weekend when I use them.

I think the release feature is kind of a pain. You need to be very carefull about getting any glue drips on the bar.

On the plus side the moving jaw will not drop on your hand.

I use Johnson's Paste Wax on the bar to reduce glue sticking to it.

Yah, I got a devil of a blood blister just the other day when a Bessey slammed closed as I was putting it away and caught part of my palm.
