I've not posted in awhile so thought I would post a pic of one of my latest projects.
I think I enjoy turning vases and hollow forms more than bowls now.
C&C welcome and appreciated.

Maybe it's the lighting or maybe it's your finish but when I look at it the words soft & elegant come to mind. Very nice piece daryl.

Good wood, good form and a great finish. What is the finish?

I don't usually comment on other's work ... but had to tell you ... outstanding!!!
Very nice. I like the shape. What are the overall dimensions? And what is the finish?
When working I had more money than time. In retirement I have more time than money. Love the time, miss the money.
Thanks everyone for the kind words, it is very encouraging!
I was fortunate to have this tree which I accidentally knocked down while felling a diseased White Oak. I't wasn't a very large tree and I didn't think much of it while concentrating my attention on the white oak. As a result it laid on the ground for about a year. This is how the spalting occurred. Sometimes you just get lucky I suppose. I still have several pieces left, so hopefully I will get a few more turnings out of it.
Art, the finish is several coats of rattle can lacquer after sanding down to 400 grit then polished on the lathe.
