Stroke sander for sanding table tops

Any one have any plans or info related to homemade stroke sanders?

I do not. But I've seen them sell pretty cheaply ,and even one too big could be made smaller as the belts are always made to order.

FWW had an article on building one ages ago that could probably be found in their archive.

They go for very little used as they are space hogs and few people understand their utility. As Mel says, many of the big ones could be cut down.

I have a MiniMax L55 which is relatively compact due to its moving powerhead/idle roller unit and fold-down table. (table size 36"x 96", overall size when folded about 30" x 144"). I picked it up for $650 after a long search. The link shows one in use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-pS5iSg-74
