Arnfest near Chicago from Sept. 21 to Sept. 24

For those of you interested in Vintage woodworking machines, the annual Arnfest event occurs later this month at the old Illinois Railway Museum closest to Union, Illinois. There is a large buy/swap meet on the Saturday morning. If you have time look into the festivities. These folks know how to fix darn near any machine made and are very friendly. Last year we made rabbet bearings for a rather enormous jointer. Lots of OWWM folks there.

I'll go one of these years. As the primary caregiver of my kids and my wife working a lot during football season (she's the team doc for a D2 team) it's tough to make it.

Rich - I think the autocorrect bug bit you. Most of them struggle with the word Babbitt.

At least it did not auto correct like it did for me. I was texting my mother to let her know I was judging a Poetry competition...it auto corrected to tell her I was judging a pornography competition...THAT took some explaining.

All that aside, looking forward to attending. Sadly, I think my shop is now full on machines-I just picked up my quest machine, a 1951 Oliver 159A lathe.
