    Silicon Problem?

I will be refinishing a piece of pine furniture that the owner may have used silicone based cleaning products. Person wants a black distressed look so I will be using paint.

    Suggestions appreciated.

IF you chemical-strip the old finish I would foresee no issues.

As said, stripper will remove it. Naptha will, too. Just to be safe, I would start the refinish with a sprayed coat of dewaxed shellac to seal in any that may still be there.
