A very nice gift that will undoubtedly become an heirloom. Beautiful work!

The most expensive tool is the one you buy "cheaply" and often...
Turned out great ,I remember the multi faceted top discussion. The angled sides really help it.
Very nice work. My experience with the Polycrilic is that the UV stabilizers in it limit the darkening of the wood due to light exposure.
So what is Uncle Jim going to put in it for treasure?

Im thinking about that now. One thing for sure is a cap from the carrier George H W Bush. His Dad was a part of the commissioning crew. I was able to take part in the family day cruise on the ship. I bought two caps, one to save for a special reason. That was about six years ago. I believe the reason has arrived.

Very attractive, Jim. I boggles my mind that you hand tool guys can get such tight joints, especially with so many mitres. Great job.
Thank you Mike
