    Cornhole Board Regulations

I want to build a regulation set as a gift. The regulations say the board must be from 1/2" plywood and 2' x4'. We all know if you buy a 2' x 4' panel, it is undersized. The only way to get a panel exactly 2' x 4' would be to buy 2 4' x 8' sheets and cut each one to size.

The same concept applies to the frame. The plywood is 15/32" thick. That means that if you use standard 2x4's, the height will be 1/32" short.

Does anyone know if the regulations mean nominal sizes or actual sizes?

If actual sizes are required, I thought I could cut 2x6's to size for the frame with a rabbet to accept a 23" x 47" panel.

All of the pictures online show the plywood as the entire surface.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks

My first thought is that if you're off a 'steenth no one would notice.

I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

Looks like the regulations give you a little wiggle room.

Thanks for the link. That is exactly what I was trying to find.
