As best I can date my chisels most are pre 1940's. As with most good early 20th Century steel the QC is pretty good. Long answer to have I noticed difference between the chisels. Not much. They all take a good edge easily and give good service. I've noticed little difference.

Your welcome Rick. I try to bookmark sites like Toolemera.com. They are a fantastic source of old catalogs and other booklets.

Sometimes on a file's information window there is a space for comments. When my brain is working when a file is downloaded the source is added to the comments box.

One flaw with this is sometimes doing a system upgrade looses that information.

In the case of the Marples catalogues the sources are listed at the bottom of the pages in the catalog. This often is only a site name and not a URL.
