Workshop walls?

I will have to forego a ceiling.
My hair almost touches my ceiling joists after putting a floor in.

It is detached but, around here, we treat codes officers about the same as revenooers.

About $250 a gallon. Not for the faint of heart.

I did read that in some locations and circumstances where plywood was not normally allowed it could be used if coated with fire retardant paint. I don't know the details (or the cost!)
