    Plane rehab, small scale...

    Decided to rehab this little fellow..

    Little Giant? Worked on the sole...

    Was a bit hard to check for flat....

    May start a sharpening thread on that iron?

    Cleaned up the cap iron...or is it a chipbreaker? Not a whole lot of parts to rehab..wasn't any rust, either
    Put this all back together, trying NOT to cut any fingers on the iron's bevels...

    Tried a few passes along the edge of a scrap board....this plane will also cut as a scraper..

    Not sure if I can cobble up a handle. Rumour has it that there were two kinds of these planes...

    Fascinating. It looks like a straight-blade inspiration for Lee Valley's pullshave.

    These sold for about 98 cents when new in the box....replacement cutters were in the Medicine Cabinet over the bathroom sink...
