    Utility Room Safety Question

I am doing some storage work in my utility room. This picture is a rough idea of the work.

The water line will be relocated. The boxes represent the size of the cabinets. The left is 24" wide and the right is 9" wide. There will be about 1/2" space between each of the gas furnace, The two cabinets, and the gas water heater respectively.

The cabinets will be mounted much higher as they are resting on water pipes.

My question is there a problem with mounting cabinets this close to the equipment.

    THanks

If you ever have to replace or service the two appliances, they probably are too close.

Check the manuals for the furnace and the water heater to see if minimum clearances are necessary.

Your best bet is to consult the manufacturer of your water heater and furnace. Clearances vary with the type of furnace and its age and are specified by the manufacturer based on the UL testing that was done on their units.

Put them on wheels. I am assuming the water pipes are attached to the walls and wheels would not interfere.
