    Carving on a 15 3/4 " Teak Platter

Here's my latest project a work in progress, I'm doing all of the carving & sanding by hand and will most likely add some stain or colors before I'm done.

Thank you David and Dave for your kind words of encouragement; There's still a great deal to do, but I find this carving process very relaxing. This is the first carving project that I have ever done and I like it so much that I'm already thinking of other projects to do over the winter months.

Hello again everyone Well I put a few more hours into the roughing out process and finished the piercing part of this project, now it's on the the fine details and sanding. Here's what she's looking like now.

Hello everyone Well I was able to get 2 finish coats of varnish on the Teak platter and still may add another coat; but over all I like how this project came out for my first carving embellishment.

More nice work! Leaves and piercings are so good! I think the flatness of the acorns weakens the overall effect. Pretty sure good leafing out is more difficult than realistic rounding. Oops ! Just noticed it's NOT FINISHED ! I'm so sorry!
Reminds me of the time I told Michael Angello "nice Madonna there.....uh ,why is her head so square?
