    Another Great Neighbor

A neighbor gave me some oak from a tree that fell down at a golf course where he worked at the time.

Just last week while walking back from the mail box he was leaving. He pulled beside me and asked if I wanted any more of the oak like what he gave me before, well of course.

This is white oak that came from his mother's yard. It seems hard and heavy. Well at least compared to the white fir (pine) that is usually on my bench.

Moving from white fir and pine to white oak will be good exercise. And an uptick in your sharpening frequency. Unless the oak is still green, maybe?

To the best of my knowledge this was cut more than a year ago. It doesn't seem green.
