Mistake Recovery and a Vanity Organizer

There was a poll about fixing boo-boo's here. I had a recent boo-boo to fix on a small project for the home but, didn't want to thread-jack. I botched a sliding dovetail cut. Just like repairing a botched tenon I glued thin strips to the side of the fouled piece.

This is a quick project for LOML so she can organize all that stuff that sets out on the Master Bath sink top. I grabbed some scrap . . . er . .. I mean some choice material that I happened to have on hand. I made two shelves with sliding dovetails and sides shaped to her specifications.

A bit of rattle-can lacquer and she's all set.

Good save Glenn! And nice project! Hope you don't mind but I've downloaded the image - I've been looking for a good idea for such an organizer. So thank you!

Thanks and be my guest. But, I have to get my wife credit for the design.

    Glen,
I have always felt that a sign of a craftsman is not performing perfectly but rather dealing with the inevitable flaws in such a manor so no one ever knows they existed. Nice creative solution Sir.

"Recovery" is essential to "Craftsmanship"...with frequency for some of us... LOL "Stuff happens".

I've done similar repairs to tenons. Good repair.
