Delta 50-860 Air cleaner or DIY Build?

Over the summer I purchased a used furnace fan with the intent of building an air cleaner. Have not done it yet, but getting close. In the meantime I have the opportunity to buy an unused, second hand Delta 50-860 for $200.
I am wondering whether it makes more sense to buy the Delta rather than build my own. The filters alone on the Delta are worth $80(?).
What would you do? Does $200 for the Delta seem like a fair price?

The 50-860 was not one of the better rated in bake-offs during its time and the price is not a "steal" necessarily. It is about the price of the Grizzly new and about 60% of other competitors. JDS routinely won the tests in the past with Jet only recently usurping them.

Before you buy the Delta consider the cost of replacement filters for it compared to standard furnace filters that most shop built units are based on.
