    Portable Bandsaw Stand

Picked up and have been using a Harbor Freight Portable Bandsaw. Great piece of equipment. Decided that for some tasks moving the work piece is easier than horsing around the saw. Made a small fixture from scrap in about 20 minutes. I’m really happy with how it turned out and how effective it is. It’s small, light weight, easy to store, and easy to set up, only one clamp. I just need to make a replacement table. Im thinking a 1/4” x 8” diameter A36 steel plate. Maybe next week.IMG_20171103_090523482.jpgIMG_20171103_090539814.jpgIMG_20171103_090442256.jpg

Nice stand, Bill. So much better looking than mine and I like how easily you can remove the bandsaw. I have a Milwaukee that I rarely used after I retired. I had to cut stainless steel tiles so I made a stand with a table out of some scrap wood.

The dowel handle pushes down on the switch and the wedge keeps it depressed. I made a fence that was skewed to run parallel with the blade and added a twist knob to hold it in place. Junky looking, but it works great.

Ok - finally added an 8" diameter table to my portable band saw - wow doest THAT make things easier. Teh plate is 8" diameter 3/16" thinck A36 Structural Steel - so fairly soft hence easy to drill and file.
