If it is an OLD one the motor can be anything since it is solid bolted to the lower support table. The heavier the motor down there the less tippy the saw becomes.

Ok went to see the saw, not only does it trip the breaker just plugged in, the adjustments tilt and height are rusted tight plus the arbor bearings as well. Even the miter gauge is rusted so bad it can not be removed by hand from the slot. So I passed.


Now looking at a used Bosch 4100 jobsite saw, used of course. He wants $300 for it, when they are $499 new.

Your "free with any purchase" VOM from HF and a few minutes will locate the short that's causing breaker to trip. Start by disconnecting cord set and check for short to ground, next check switch, and then check motor to insure it's wired correctly. Depending upon motor, there most likely is a wiring diagram on out side of motor.
