Thread: Walnut Makeup Table

    Walnut Makeup Table

Made a Makeup Table for a client that I also did a lot of other work for.

Made the legs using the Queen Anne bandsaw technique and then a lot of sanding. Used a draw knife for some of the wood removal.

Did the mortises on my drill press with the mortise attachment

Did the tenons on the tablesaw. The curved apron I had to do another way.

Added some 3/32" thick strips to build up the thickness. Glued it up.

Put the table base together using straps.

    Glued up

Made a curly Maple drawer for the table.

Here is the top without the backsplash

Here's the 1/2" backsplash in clamps.

After the backsplash was attached the the top and shaped.

Made the stand for a tri-fold mirror

The top with it's stain (American Walnut 50%) and 2K Polyurethane coat.

Base primed black and then painted BM Spanish Red.

    Put into my clients home

I love furniture designed for a specific place. Well done.

Agree with all. And designed for a special place some how seems more luxurious than built in. Love the conveniently angled mirror hugging the wall. Think it would look even better all one color or with a stone top; its the star and stars are not for "blending in".

An eye-pleaser as usual Leo. You get the most interesting projects and always deliver. I love the elevated mirror platform.
