    Router collets source

Needed a 3/8" collet for my DW621 to run some end mills. Of course, the DeWalt catalogue 'sez' the 3/8" collet is obsolete/no longer available.

An on-line search and found Elaire Corp. stocks imperial and metric size collets for DeWalt, Bosch Porter Cable, Mikita routers and small reducing adapter collets at reasonable prices: http://elairecorp.com/routercollets.html

If you can't find a 3/8 collet, you could always use a 3/8 adapter

Speaking of collets for a 621, is there anyway to know when a collet needs to be replaced BEFORE is screws something up? Granted, my 621 was purchased in 2001 so the collet didn't ow me anything but it would have been nice for me to notice when it needed to be replaced before it screwed up my dovetail joint. Sorry if this is considered hijacking a post.

Just a note to say that the Elaire collets are great! Got one for my Makita RT0701 from the initial run, and it's such a nice thing I got the 1/4" version to replace my stock collet which was a nice upgrade --- less runout, cleaner cuts.
