Oil base Poly over water based sanding sealer

There are many opinions on the internet about using Oil base Polyurathane over water based sanding sealer. What are the Creek forum friends say about this combination of Oil base poly over water base sanding sealer? Need your opinions.

I don’t see a problem with it. It is common to use oil based finishes over water based grain fillers. I would want the surface to be rough enough to provide “bite.”

I run into this doing floors for a living. Just be careful and make sure you have a good even sealer applied. If there is any spot not sealed properly. The oil based product is gonna change the color dramitically.

Thank you for your input. I’m using a good brush to apply the Waterbase Poly , prior to that, I sanded with 220. I plan on using 280 for the next coat. I did notice that the Water base finish does leave the brush marks. Hopefully after sanding through to 1200 it will be all smooth, to Beal Buff.
