Standaard Grinding in Reading, Pa, does excellent work. 216 Lancaster Ave, REading Pa 19611 Don't have the # handy. They will grind to your specs, but their standard grind is 35*, with an incredibly small back bavel to take off the wire edge. Need a magnifier to see it.

I noticed your comment on "back beveling", do you do this to deduce chip-out on figured woods ala David marks? And if so, what is the best angle?

    Thanks.

Yes, but I also do it becuase that is what they do. When I first sent them knives, I told them I wanted a back bevel, and they said fine, we do so anyway. Whether they will NOT do it I am not sure. It has worked well.

You could PM fellow creeker Keith July, he has a sharpening service and I'm happy with what he has done for me.
