[Mark Baldwin III]

This may be one for the true gurus. A wooden jack plane was gifted to me and we are trying to figure out the maker. It is 16'' long, with a 2 1/4'' tapered single iron (W. Butcher). I can only make out a little of the maker's mark on the body of the plane. Let's see if I can provide some clues...and if someone can help identify it. You won't win anything, except maybe the pride of solving a small mystery. Here's a few pics: (one of the plane, one of what I can read of the mark, and one of the iron. I can't get a decent photo of the mark, so I'm not including it.) Thanks for any help!!

Wow! Thanks!! That's a maker I don't know, hence why I couldn't identify it. I just looked up their mark, and it appears to be a match to what's on the plane. I tried to make out what I could, even doing paper transfers and couldn't get anything more than my hangman puzzle.
