Dan Gurney, Racer, Inovator, Owner. RIP

Yesterday a boyhood Hero of mine passed, Dan Gurney, 1931-2018
A truly skilled driver who literally changed the sport of automobile racing and design.
A renaissance man, with accomplishments few will ever know their full scope.
When I heard the words, racing driver, Dan Gurney's image was in my mind.
    God Speed, Mr. Gurney

One of the obits said he was the first driver to win in F1, IndyCar, and stock cars. Since he also won at Le Mans that should have included top-tier sports cars too.

I'm no longer a "spring chicken" and I remember him from back when I was just discovering automobiles as a kid. RIP

And on top of all of this, he is responsible for the tradition of spraying champagne on the podium! The great man is gone but the legend lives on. Cheers
